Work Clothes

Hello!
I thought today I would share a "normal workday outfit". Now, I love wearing my cute little dresses and skirts to work and usually that is what you can find me wearing. But sometimes I feel like just wearing some black pants and a cute top. Especially if I am going to be doing a ton of colors or highlights because I don't want to ruin any of my dresses by splashing color on them. I am pretty lucky with my profession because I can pretty much wear whatever I feel like. So anyway, here is an example of a regular work outfit.

Windy Days = Photo Problems

Oh my. Today was the windiest day EVER.
 I had to go out and take my pictures on my own, which lead to some issues.
 My tripod kept blowing over. My dress kept blowing up. My hair, which was cute and curled when I left the house, was blowing all over the dang place. Plus, it was so bright! So unsuccessful.
I wasn't going to post these pictures because they are awful, but then decided to, just because they are hilarious.  I was getting so annoyed.

Minty Green is my favorite color!

Have you noticed how popular mint green has become? It is all over everything, especially clothing. I love it. I have always had a fondness for it's springy-ness and crisp-ness. Such a handsome little color. So imagine my excitement when I found this little gem of a blouse recently. A peter pan collar, mint green, AND polka dots?! Is this what dreams are made of?
I think this is the perfect St.Patty's Day shirt..

Fauxy Lady

Hello, friends! 

Have you ever had a day where all you though about was cutting off your hair? Wondering how you would look with a cute little bob? 

Me too.

This has been my go to hairstyle over the past year or so, whenever I am having an awful split end day. I just tuck those little frayed babies up under the rest of my hair and voila! 

( Don't mind how frizzy my hair is here. Wind blowing doesn't help my dirty hair look very smooth. Plus, I wasn't really planning on focusing on my hair when I took these! Next time I'll be prepared! )

 I chose to keep my bob more on the longer looking side, but shorter fauxy's can be done! Check out this picture of a very short fauxy I did two Christmas's ago..it continued all the way around my head, giving the illusion that my hair was shortie short. I even had co-workers coming up to me all night, asking if I had gotten my hair cut. So fun. 

I'm off to go cuddle on the couch with my two main men and enjoy some Mad Men. Hope your night is great!

Faded Glory

I was so delighted to find this amazing little sweater on my porch when we returned home from NC. I had ordered it thinking it would come before I left, but it never did. Naturally, I was worried that something would happen to it before I got home but it arrived safely. Thank goodness because it is too cute and I love it. I was also delighted to see that the lovely Katie of Skunkboy Creatures just posted some pictures of the same one.  We redheads must think alike.
But anywho-
I can't resist a good striped blouse. I also, cannot resist a peter pan collar. And to add that sheer top/back to it? Genius!

Through the Fog

Yellow Reflections

This winter I have been obsessed with topping my dresses with sweaters. It is such an easy way to spruce up an old dress, and every top you use makes it look completely different! Here is a post where I am using this nifty little technique. This can easily get you a ton of different outfit looks.

Bridge Over Troubled Water

Ahh, January. You keep surprising me.
It was in the low 60's yesterday, and the air was so warm and Spring like. Everyone was out walking and running. And it definitely made me happy.
Tom is off  today, so we are going to do some major cleaning. The windows are open and the breeze blowing through the house is seriously perfect. Ahh. Spring can't come soon enough.

I have an obsession with polka dots.
If I am shopping and I see something polka dotted, I am immediately drawn to it.

Same with floral prints. Especially if the flowers look old and weird.

But I digress.

Back to the polka dots.

I feel like this is a total 90's outfit, which makes sense since I was listening to the 90's Alternative/Grunge station this morning on Pandora. Love it. 

I am in the process of figuring out what I'd like to do with this ole bloggie of mine. Cosmetically speaking. It needs a newer, structured look. More professional, not like you can tell I painted on those owls up there at the top or anything. Haha. I would love to have pages for my outfits/about me/contact etc.  I guess I want it to look like a real blog. I am terrible at HTML and coding. Like, super awful. I would like to be able to figure it out on my own, but I am also willing to have it done for me.
Same goes for the pictures I upload. I know I've heard that uploading through Flikr or other photo sharing sites, the quality of the picture looks better. But I also become confused when figuring that out. I am the type that needs like step by step, dummy proof instructions.

Any tips from you smarties out there? Where do I start?

Snowy River

My first outfit post with snow! And brr..it was cold!
I went down to my favorite little beach spot along the river (this spot is fast becoming my favorite if you couldn't tell) and braved the cold to take a few photos.

This weather lately has been making me lazy. All I seem to want to do is curl up and read. I am reading 5 books at the moment which I hate doing. But between my Kindle app, Ibooks, and my paperbacks I have somehow. So my agenda for the next couple weeks, is to finish at least 3 of them. Then I can start some new ones when we go to NC. I'll need something to do during the 17 hour drive. That being said, any good book suggestions?

Hearts on Fire

This is one of my favorite dresses I own!
It is so comfy, and it has the best fit and print.
I wore this outfit on Monday when I went to the class, and I got a ton of compliments on it, so that is always nice, too!

Tonight we are supposed to get a huge winter snow storm- our first real snow of the season. I suppose this lovely weather has gone on long enough, but I still am sad to see it go. Usually around this time of the year it is blizzard city around here. Oh well. 

In other news- I have been super obsessed with Storage Wars lately. I can't get enough of it, and some nights Tom and I watch it for hours. Yay for Barry Weiss! 

Also, I am trying to find a cute, quirky, vintage looking IPhone 4 case..anyone know of any websites where they have some of these options? I can't seem to find anything I like.
