Incubus!

Wow, you guys.. The concert was ahhhhh-mazing!!

The venue was probably the best place I have ever been to see a concert. It was the Charter One Pavillion in downtown Chicago. Completely outdoors, view of the Chicago skyline. Awesome sound. I love love loved it!

The set was fantastic. They had the perfect combination of new and old songs, and Mr. Boyd has got such a beautiful voice. Major swoon-age.

Once again, these pictures are not the best because they are from my phone. But good news.. I should have a working modem tomorrow.. Woo!!

Hopefully tomorrow I can get some pictures from the birthday party on here.

Have happy dreams about Brandon Boyd's beautiful face!

Wait , that will probably just be me. Oh well!
:)

Until next time

Inspired by..

So after my Zooey post last night , I decided to try and recreate a couple of her outfits from one of the best movies ever..500 days of Summer.

Great movie, right?

The only problem I have with this movie is, whenever I watch it, I become possessed and whack my bangs off at 1:00 in the morning...
You too? Glad I'm not the only one.
I digress.
Anyways, I know that all of Summer's outfits in the movie had a blue theme, and she wore lots of retro-vintage looking items. So I searched through my closet for some items that resembled what she wore in the movie and I went from there.

Here is the first.

Dress- Urban Outfitters
Cardigan- Charlotte Russe
Belt- Target
Flats- Urban Outfitters

And the next..

Top- American Eagle
Shorts- Target
Tights- Target
Flats- Pacific Sunwear

And here are the bangs.

There you go!

Sorry for the awful picture quality.
My intenet is still acting screwy so I have been using my IPad to snap photos. Dumb Mediacom! Hopefully it starts working again soon..
This weekend is going to be super busy!
I have a birthday party tomorrow night, then Tom's family reunion on Sunday afternoon, and then Sunday night Incubus! Yay!

Hope all of you have a stellar weekend!
Be prepared for tons of Brandon Boyd pictures (swoon)!

Until next time!

My computer is buggin

Seriously. It is acting crazy! So I'm updating this on my IPad, which means I can't upload the pictures I wanted to..wah!

So I promise there will be an awesome post tomorrow..

In the meantime.. I thought I would share one my biggest girl crushes.

The always adorable Zooey Deschanel

Her hair is my favorite. And her outfits are the best.

These bangs are always on my mind. So I think tonight I am going to make it happen!

And I want these outfits!

Plus.. The girl can sing.. She & Him is one of my favorites.

Okay enough obsessing.

Sorry this is so random :)

Until next time!

PS- I totally made Quinoa again tonight.. And it was successful! Maybe I am actually figuring out how to cook a meal without burning it.. Who knew!

When did everyone grow up?

Facebook is a great way for me to keep in touch with old friends from school and family members that live states away. It is nice to be able to share pictures, posts, etc. with all of these people.

Facebook is ALSO a great way to creep on people. I mean, that is really what Facebook is used for. Stalkin old friends and people you knew in high school. Haha. I am semi-kidding.

As I was scrolling through some posts the other day it occurred to me, that out of the 400 or so kids I graduated with, about 60% are married. Plus children.

I am 24 years old, so to some of you that may seem normal. To some of you that may seem too young. I don't think either. I believe that when the time is right, the time is right. Sometimes it is earlier for others. Sometimes later.

My point is this..when did we all grow up?? When did I blink and realize that I am 24 years old? I am officially not a teenager anymore. I am officially an adult.

It is my responsibility (and Tom's) to make sure that Oscar has food, that we have toilet paper (we constantly run out.oops.), to make sure the bills are paid, to make sure I show up to work on time, to make sure the gutters are cleaned out so that a leak doesn't occur (hello last winter). And we aren't even married yet. No kids. I count Oscar but hey, that's just me. Kidding. (again..kinda)

I know that 24 is still young, but I guess I just am realizing how fast time really does go. I feel like just yesterday I was graduating from high school, making silly decisions and complaining about curfews.

Live life to the fullest, my friends! Time goes by so quickly!

^me circa 2005^

And if I could say anything to my little 17 year old self it would be this: quit coloring those random chunks of your hair black! I know you think it looks cool, but you look like Cruella Deville! And stop complaining about being so young! Because one day you will be 24, I know how old that must sound to you, and your complaints will be way different.
Now I just complain about running out of toilet paper.

oh yeah.
and here's an outfit from today.

until next time!

Reality Bites

One of my favorite movies ever is Reality Bites. It came out in 94, and starred Winona Ryder, Ethan Hawke and Ben Stiller, among others.

I didn't see it when it came out, being as I was only 7, but I saw it sometime in high school and fell in loooove.
I think it is the whole 90's vibe of it that really sucks me in. I love everything early (and late) 90's. The clothing, the hair, the makeup, the music. Everything!

This movie also sucks me in because of the always smokin hot Ethan Hawke. I love his whole greasy-long haired-musician-smart but refusing to conform- Troy Dyer. He's so brooding and condescending. And did I mention smokin hot? I always fall for the slacker grease balls. Oh well!

The characters in the movie are all kind of whiny, stereotypical 24 year olds, but that is what I love about it. They realize that sometimes you have to work at the Gap to pay the bills instead of finding your dream job right out of college.

And the relationship between Lelaina (Winona Ryder), Troy (Ethan Hawke)is seriously super cute, and totally relatable.

I adore Winona Ryder's hair in this movie. It is so messy and greasy and screams "I just rolled out of bed, but I don't care. I'm all up in your face with hair envy!" I swear, on my blog, that I will someday have this haircute. Yes, haircut plus cute equals hairCUTE. And her wardrobe rules. Big time.

PLUS..(Can I really have more to say?) The soundtrack is so good. SO GOOD.

So I think you should go out and rent it. I know it is on Netflix! Do it! You know you want to!

Please tell me there is someone out there that loves this movie as much as I do!

Okay..I'm done forcing Reality Bites down your throat. (WATCH IT!)

until next time.
