Fauxy Lady

Hello, friends!
Have you ever had a day where all you though about was cutting off your hair? Wondering how you would look with a cute little bob?
Me too.
This has been my go to hairstyle over the past year or so, whenever I am having an awful split end day. I just tuck those little frayed babies up under the rest of my hair and voila!
( Don't mind how frizzy my hair is here. Wind blowing doesn't help my dirty hair look very smooth. Plus, I wasn't really planning on focusing on my hair when I took these! Next time I'll be prepared! )

Tights- Gap
Fringe Booties- Target
Yellow Skinny Belt- Target
Toggle Coat- Urban Outiftters

I chose to keep my bob more on the longer looking side, but shorter fauxy's can be done! Check out this picture of a very short fauxy I did two Christmas's ago..it continued all the way around my head, giving the illusion that my hair was shortie short. I even had co-workers coming up to me all night, asking if I had gotten my hair cut. So fun.

I'm off to go cuddle on the couch with my two main men and enjoy some Mad Men. Hope your night is great!

Let's talk about Jane Asher

I get so much inspiration from this woman. Such flawless style and beauty. I wish I had been a "young adult" in the 60's! And I wish I could have dated a Beatle!

These photos have totally convinced me that I need her haircut. It is basically the same as mine, but I love her "side burns" aka the hair framing her face around her bangs. You can really see this in the second and third photos. So cute!

Here's to dreaming of the 60's.

Faded Glory

My first outfit post since the big trip!
My first outfit post as an engaged woman!

Wahoo!

I was so delighted to find this amazing little sweater on my porch when we returned home from NC. I had ordered it thinking it would come before I left, but it never did. Naturally, I was worried that something would happen to it before I got home but it arrived safely. Thank goodness because it is too cute and I love it. I was also delighted to see that the lovely Katie of Skunkboy Creatures just posted some pictures of the same one.  We redheads must think alike.
But anywho-
I can't resist a good striped blouse. I also, cannot resist a peter pan collar. And to add that sheer top/back to it? Genius!

Life Lately

The past couple weeks have just flown by. I cannot, I repeat cannot believe it is already March. Whew. Winter is zooming by. I am soo ready for Spring to be here so I can get out of my winter funk. Does anyone else have this problem? No motivation. Cravings for all things high in calories.Feeling like you are ten pounds heavier. ICK!

In other news- Work is going great. We have had two snowstorms here in the past week and a half. I have completely fallen into a Cadbury candy coma. Oh, and Oscar is still cute.

Some snapshots of life lately!

We are always watching One Tree Hill :)

Like I said, lots of food. Yikes! Save me!

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend :)

Oscar Love!

I looooove watching the Academy Awards. I make tons of snacks and make Tom sit with me for the whole entire show, including the red carpet entrances. It's such a guilty pleasure of mine, but I just love seeing what everyone wears and all the pretty hairstyles.

A few of my favorites..

Michelle Williams is my favorite ( which you probably already know if you frequent this blog ) and her dress was my absolute favorite! I am so in love with the shape, the color, the cute little tutu piece. It's amazing.

Rooney Mara looked so beautiful and simple. Her dress was incredible and I am so digging her hair and makeup. Those bangs are the cutest!

Emma Stone was also looking quite stunning in a gorgeous gown that included a huge bow. I love bows. And the color was so pretty against her skin/hair color.

I really liked Angelina Jolie's look for the night, which is rare because I usually think she dresses a bit too matronly. This dress was such a lovely fit on her, minus her whole leg showing at all time stance. And her hair was such a pretty color and style.

And Ellie Kemper was so stinkin cute with her bangs and her blinging dress. Love!

There were so many more I loved, but I'll stop at these. Who was your favorite look of the night?

Wilmington Day Six- The last day!

Valentine's Day was our last day in NC. Since we had been there for 5 days already, and seen so much, we decided to just spend the day downtown.

And I finally got to see the bridge from One Tree Hill!

We spent our romantic evening at The Oceanic, a gorgeous restaurant that overlooks the ocean. It is located right on Wrightsville Beach. Check our the website- they have a live feed of the beach!

valentine's day

Then, very early in the morning, we started the journey home. Bye Wilmington, you cute little place you.

Thanks for suffering through all of my photos! I feel like that old aunt that makes you sit there and watch her old slide shows for hours on end. You can breathe a sigh of relief now! Back to our regularly scheduled blogging!
