Wilmington, North Carolina

This past June I got to experience one of the best vacations of my life. I've been to tons of places, here and other countries, and this one takes the cake!

Wilmington, NC is one of the cutest places ever. It has so much life. There are a million things to do- shopping at all the cute boutiques and thrift stores, taking a long walk down the beautiful pier, being in the downtown area and experiencing all the clubs and breweries, museums, touring the studio where Dawsons' Creek and One Tree Hill were/are filmed, tons of great eating, gorgeous beaches, all kids of walking tours, driving through all the historic neighborhoods..I could go on and on.

The reason we went there to begin with was because of Dawson's Creek. I am a huge HUGE fan of DC. It was and always will be my favorite tv show ever. I always thought the town they grew up in, Capeside, looked so charming and pretty. It never occurred to me that it could actually exist!

I went with one of my best friends Samantha ( my fellow DC nerd) and we planned an 8 day adventure to Wilmington. We drove all the way there, from Illinois, in one straight shot. It took us like, 22 hours. We just switched off driving every 4-5 hours and it was a piece of cake. Plus, we were all amped up on the thought of being there!

We got to visit all of the Dawson's locations we could have dreamed of : Dawson's house, Joey's house, Capeside High School, Pacey's restaurant, the Icehouse, Pacey's wall for Joey, all the shops in the town, Hell's Kitchen, Worthington College, plus so many other random spots that only crazy obsessed people would go.
Also, being One Tree Hill fans as well, we got to visit all of those filming locations too! Lucas and Karen's house, Peyton's house, the high school, the Rivercourt, TRIC.

One Tree Hill is still being filmed there so we also went on a Studio Gems tour of all the sets from the show. That was amazing.

I can't wait to go back there, and I think about it all the time. It just made such an impression on me. Best city ever.

Here is a video I made of some pictures from the trip.

Dawson's Creek fans..gimme a virtual high five!
