do the polka

I have an obsession with polka dots.
If I am shopping and I see something polka dotted, I am immediately drawn to it.

Same with floral prints. Especially if the flowers look old and weird.

But I digress.

Back to the polka dots.

 outfit details
Polka Dot Sweater- I Heart Ronson
Belt- I've had it since Jr.High
Skirt- Modcloth
Plum Tights- Gap
Black Boots- Old Navy

I feel like this is a total 90's outfit, which makes sense since I was listening to the 90's Alternative/Grunge station this morning on Pandora. Love it.

I am in the process of figuring out what I'd like to do with this ole bloggie of mine. Cosmetically speaking. It needs a newer, structured look. More professional, not like you can tell I painted on those owls up there at the top or anything. Haha. I would love to have pages for my outfits/about me/contact etc.  I guess I want it to look like a real blog. I am terrible at HTML and coding. Like, super awful. I would like to be able to figure it out on my own, but I am also willing to have it done for me.
Same goes for the pictures I upload. I know I've heard that uploading through Flikr or other photo sharing sites, the quality of the picture looks better. But I also become confused when figuring that out. I am the type that needs like step by step, dummy proof instructions.

Any tips from you smarties out there? Where do I start?

xo!

  2. i love that sweater as well!
i would definitely upload through flickr (i think it's a lot easier, too!): you just have to set up an account and then there's a page called 'upload' and you can just upload them there (there's information on how to do that, too).
as for the layout, if you get it done, do you want to spend money? i really like the designs bri from designlovefest and emma from emmadime make, but since they are 'professional' graphic designers i guess it can't be inexpensive. otherwise i would just ask if maybe one of your friends can help you (i asked my dad ;)
    have fun!

  5. I LOVE your hair, and your cute blog!
I am not in the graphic design program yet, so my blog isn't exactly where I want it yet either. But, I downloaded Gimp, which is a free version of photoshop. I use that to add lettering to my photos and fix up photos. Also, I simply looked up how to do certain things to my blog and eventually I found simple tutorials that worked for me. I am sure you could do the same! <3

    1. I will definitely be checking out Gimp! I always use Picnik to edit my photos, add text, etc. but I just found out that they are shutting down in April! So sad! So yeah, I will be looking into Gimp!
Thanks for the advice!! Let's see if I can figure any of this out through tutorials!

  7. I love that top so much! It's beautiful and you have the most perfect hair. The style and the color are what I dream of! Also I totally just bought that skirt!

As for the blog design, I'm pretty great at the html and not so shabby at photoshop and since I really like what I'm seeing here, I'd totally work with you for free. Feel free to visit my blog, grab my email and I can show you what I've done/discuss it!

  10. i was the same way as you- i hated my blog design for so long. paid someone to do a design for me (though not very much thank god), and still hated it.

i eventually just bit the bullet and started designing stuff myself. it's pretty easy to make your own header/ nav bar links, etc. while it's been hard learning something i've never done before, i like having a new skill in my toolbox. and you have more control over your look :) you might mess up a lot at first, but i'm sure you'd eventually come up with something you like a lot more than what you have now.

    good luck! xx
