Candy

One of my most favorite movies EVER is Candy.

"A poet falls in love with an art student who gravitates to his bohemian lifestyle -- and his love of heroin. Hooked as much on one another as they are on the drug, their relationship alternates between states of oblivion, self-destruction, and despair."

It is such a beautiful story of love and what happens to love when addiction comes into play. It is seriously amazing, my friends. I went through this phase right after Heath Ledger died (wahhhhhhhh!) where I would watch this movie every single day..it drove Tom crazy.

Abby Cornish is stunning in this movie. When I had white blonde hair, I always tried to recreate her frizzy curls/waves..tis hard, folks. Tis hard.

I always find myself gravitating towards movies dealing with drug usage. I'm not quite sure why..but regardless, this movie takes the cake. I highly recommend seeing it! It is very hauntingly realistic, but also beautiful and wonderful. Terrific yet disturbing at times.

Fun fact- I love this movie so much that I got a bird tattoo behind my ear like the above picture. Dan and Candy sport matching birdy tattoos right behind their ears. Nerdy? I think not!

Oh and bring tissues.

  2. It is realistic which makes it so so sad, and in parts hard to watch. I watched this for the first time a couple of months ago. Both did a very good job portraying the characters.

    Nice tattoo!

  3. I watched it and bawled my eyes out. Especially the part where they lose the baby...oh god. My hubby and I both agreed that we were going to have our daughters watch it later in life- I think it would discourage most from drug use. (I sound like such a mom)

Thanks so much for the recommendation! I just read your post about Michelle Williams and I am anxious to see a few of those films now too! :)
